I can’t help but wonder if Mister Puzo had more time if he might have changed some of this. Some of it was very good, but I felt some of it was just workmanlike and generally forgettable. I had read The Godfather when it was first published; however, I had not read the two successive novels until recently. What a treat! Having seen (and recorded) all three movies, and realizing that each is not a copy of the other, I have to say to those who are considering purchasing them ... do it! Both "The Sicilian" and "Omerta" fill in blanks. Because the films are not exact copies of the books, they remain a most enjoyable reading adventure.
