It worked ok for me on vacation, but coat pockets aren't padded, so there was always the chance of knocking the camera into hard surfaces through the coat pocket. The RX-100s are around half the thickness, not only thinner, but also a tad smaller in height and width. The RX-100m II can easily fit into an inside coat pocket. Or a small, fairly unobtrusive belt pouch, a much smaller one than the NEX-6 requires.NEX 6 **without a lens**: 120 x 67 x 43 mm (4.72 x 2.64 x 1.69″)with the 16-50 lens it is 2.75" thick, add a clear UV filter, lens cap and the Electronic viewfinder hood and it is about 3.375" thick.RX-100M: 102 x 58 x 38 mm (4.00 x 2.29 x 1.51″) - way thinner and lighter.The RX-100s are great. I chose the NEX because I decided to go with a more general purpose camera with an articulated screen and built-in electronic viewfinder. Now that the RX100m II is available with WiFi, I would have chosen it for its compact size and excellent feature set. WiFi enables you to use your smart phone as an external remote with live preview. **Q: How does it compare to the NEX 5R in terms of value? It seems like the addition of viewfinder, and slight lens upgrade would make it worthwhile.** A: When it comes to actually making great photos, there simply is no comparison. Don't get me wrong- the 5R is a great camera. But without a viewfinder and the ability to optimally brace your elbows against your body as you watch your subject through the viewfinder and s-q-u-e-e-z-e the shutter, it is difficult to get good shots.The NEX-6 with the 16-50mm zoom is the closest you will get to the quality of image you would get from a DSLR - but in a package you can stuff into a jacket pocket. There are many people who buy the 5R, and then realize it's difficult seeing the LCD screen in bright daylight. They then have to invest in the optional EVF, which drives the whole package higher than if they just bought the NEX-6 to begin with. **Q: What exactly comes in the box? It's not clear to me, other than the camera body and lens! Thanks!** A: Camera Body, Lens, Lens Cap, Battery, Power cord/USB cord, neck strap, software CD, and instruction manual. **Q: Compared to the 5R, the 6 has an EVF and built-in flash - is this worth the extra cost?** A: It really depends if you like using a viewfinder or if you don't care about it. I like using a viewfinder and I will be buying the NEX6 over the NEX5. Built in flash might help sometimes so that's a plus too.
