Product seems watery but actually gives good coverage. The cedar was quite dark. No odour and very safe to use, washed off hands easily. **Q: Can you use this on decking which has already been painted but has worn of** A: As long as the wood is free of any old paint or finish it will work well. This is a penetrating stain so it needs to be able to soak into the wood. **Q: Will this work on treated timber?** A: If you are reffering to preservative treated timber, then in most cases yes, our stain will still be suitable. There are however many different types of wood preservatives and treatments, and without testing our stains on every one of them, we can't 100% say for sure. For the most part, you should be ok. Hope this helps. **Q: Can this be used on a beehive?** A: Yes, you could use this on beehives and is a very safe option, being so low on VOC ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 out of 5 stars Goes far. *by M***U on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 25 September 2020* This was bought to stain the furniture I have made for my man cave.The bottle once added to water goes a lighter colour.I added half a bottle to 1.5ltrs of water and shook the bottle for about a minute to allow all of the pigment to mix correctly.I used sponge brushes to apply the stain and it goes a lovely colour.I only added small amounts to the tub I was dipping my brush into as the pigment started to separate if you add too much and take too long to apply it.once I used what was in the tub I shook the bottle again before pouring more stain out.It's best if you mix enough stain for the jobs you want to place together in case the colour is slightly different.I guess its a bit like getting the right batch number on wallpaper.I used this in the man cave I built during lock down and everyone who see's the wood I have stain is really impressed. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 4.0 out of 5 stars Good coverage, a bit pricey for just a stain *by M***L on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 15 June 2020* Considering how watery this is, it did a much better job than I expected. You will need at least 2 coats. I was covering a faded black fence with the black stain and it looks good after 1 coat but could probably use another. I really only bought this because I couldn't get my usual fence paint this year in lockdown.The only thing I don't like about it is the price. It doesn't advertise any protection for the wood, purely staining and so it's pretty expensive just to stain, I could buy a stain with protection much cheaper normally. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent stain fit for purpose. *by M***A on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 15 September 2019* We used this to give a tired old wooden trailer a facelift. Several coats of stain were needed to get the required depth of colour. We consulted the company to ask if a top varnish would be needed and Alex was most helpful. Normally not needed for there exterior range, but because this was to be towed on the road Alex thought it may be necessary. We bought a reputable varnish and tried it on a well dried and cured test piece of wood, the varnish did not dry well or look good, so we left the stained trailer as it was. We did this in early spring and the trailer has had much use. It has not marked or faded and still looks great. We do cover it with a large waterproof cover when not in use. Well done Safeway and Thankyou Alex for your prompt advice, I hope this revue may be of some use to you.
