Nice, compact... but leaves much to be desired...

Pros:Nice, compact form. Easily concealable in pocket, set for silent vibration alert. I was able to find all the hidden security features in the public areas of my sweetheart's apartment building just by feeling this thing vibrate when I passed under them (cams hidden in smoke detectors).Cons:Every wi fi modem and wireless phone set it off...Gets spurious signals from unknown sources; and, unless there's a device floating in the middle of the air space in my living room...The 'instructions' are in such broken English, it's impossible for me to know if I'm using it right or not; so unless you can read Chinese (assuming the instructions are any more clear there), you're on your own to figure out how this thing works.

GSM/HSPA on the other hand do fine, especially GSM which

Takes a bit of practice, I suggest learning to hold it so your finger is on sensitivity knob so you can increase/decrease on the fly. It seems to get "stuck" once it grabs a signal. If you commonly sweep by moving it up and down, you won't have much of an issue. If a signal completely drops off, this doesn't seem to be effected, but, if source of RF drops in power output, it can be a bit tricky to reliably use as a dead accurate locating device.Bluetooth signals don't seem to pick up very well, nor do LTE signals from cell phones. GSM/HSPA on the other hand do fine, especially GSM which, isn't surprising. WiFi though, is rather interesting. My router which is using G settings, is loud as can be. Yet, the one I have (Airport Express) using G and N, it really didn't pick it up as strong as the other. In fact, I had trouble telling the difference between it and the TV soundbar fairly near it. Bluetooth was very confusing. Being its near WiFi in signal frequency, I can't explain the difference in output from the unit. "Barely detectable" is a nice way of wording it. I basically had to put the unit next to the attenna on my phone, about 1cm before it could register anything. I put it in airplane mode to ensure it wasn't stray cell it was picking up, same results. Did not test with other versions of bluetooth, just 4.0. Perhaps that's why, being 4.0 is "Low Energy", not sure.It picked up the microwave perfectly. Same with other random signals I came across. Certain electrical outlets it registers nothing. Some of the ones which have the test/reset buttons on them, it would register. One of them to tried it near, it did not. So, being it was a slightly different plug then the other two, perhaps the design shields some of it better then the others.Coax wall connectors for your TV were picked up, even with no cable attached. So overall, for a cheap unit, it will do the job. Its sensitivity range may be hit or miss depending on your application. It claims to do up to 6ghz, which it will. But, it doesn't appear as sensitive above 2.4ghz, compared to below based on my results. Though, Bluetooth does make my results a little varied, so I can't explain that portion. But, it is a neat unit for the unit.Oh, you can swap the attenna fairly easily if you need/want to. I put one on it from a RC car remote, just so it was longer so I could reach to the ceiling without a stepstool.

    My 007 gear

This is a great gadget for detecting microwave transmitter/receivers from a cell phone, notebok with WiFi, a Wireless Modem or ? I bought this to make sure my room isn't being bugged, or my car dosn't have a hidden GPS tag. Yes I'm kind of paranoid, but you havn't lived my life. It's coated in gelskin, and has an audible or silent setting. It has earbuds and has an infrared light to detect hidden cameras. This works on the principle that glass reflects the light back to you. I'm not sure what the little compass is good for, LOL The best thing is it was only $25, a small price to pay for some peace of mind. This will not detect laser or parabolic mics, or hardwired mics.
