Review: A great enclosure for mounting on top of the deck or below.... well made, supplied with everything. - I read many of the positive and negatice views, and really can't understand why it received so many negative views, if the installer has some basic knowlege how to take an item apart and put back together they should not have any issues. The manufacture supplied everything necessary to install this enclosure. Once you take it all apart, including the small plate on the rear of the unit held together with six small screws, it is easy to add, and or use existing wires for their components. I didn't use the provided installation bracket, yet is was sufficent to hold component and enclosure in place, I used a direct method supporting the enclosure with 1/4-20 bolts with pvc spacers to mount on a bracket I made years ago to support an underdash CD player. Many said they were not able to mount a back brace to suppport the back of the radio, I find that laughable, with a few measurements and a tinnerman nut it was eash to mount the back of the unit using the supplied bracket from the stereo manufacture, and and a pan head screw, washer and rubber gasket. I was also impressed I could easily see the stereo display through the blue tinted cover. Nothing negative about this unit..... you can install the unit either with the door up or door down... I tugged on the door didn't break, I am sure this will work fine hitting waves with the door closed. I mounted my door with the hinges on the bottom since I couldn't see the unit with the door open with the hinges on top. This enclosure is well made and will support being supported directly by attaching through the enclosure. All in all I am very happy I chose this particular enclosure, and the price from desertcart made it an easy choice, I would have paid fifty dollars for this enclosure. I ordered and received within three days.

**Q: what is the black plastic peice for?**
A: It closes to cover the radio faceplate. Only way it's water tight

**Q: what radio will fit this housing**
A: Any radio will fit the housing. But beware...I broke the lid after 4 days of opening and closing. FYI

**Q: Does pyle pldmr3u fit this housing?**
A: Yes it is made to fit but you need to ensure the metal sleeve is in place and not bent so the radio catches the locking springs to hold it in place.  the instructions gloss over this but it is in there.

**Q: My am/fm/cd radio is 6" long x 7" Wide x 2" high. Will it fit into this housing?**
A: yes it will, there is a face plate that fits those dimensions that holds the radio and then as 1 unit , you attach that to the housing with four screws. hope that helps, i will advise you tho the cover, faceplat part, the smoky colored peice has plastic hinges and will fail after repeated use, i had to add aftermarket hinges to secure it properly and keep it watertight. i will still buy it again as the price is right. hope that helps

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Seems like a good unit except for the door

Purchased this cover to house my head unit. It was very easy to wire and to mount, but as other as stated the door will eventually break, that I have no doubt. After only using it for a few weeks the door is already getting loose enough where it will not stay up on its own and I can see the plastic parts (hinges) wearing down. Maybe I'll be wrong and the door will be just fine, but time will tell.
