Volume was so low that I had to turn the volume to the three o'clock position on my amp to get even moderate sound. I ordered this in the hope that it would improve things. It really makes a difference! I hooked up this little amp in between my TV and my main amplifier, and then turned it on, along with my regular amp. After a few tweaks on the volume control, I find that the 11 o'clock position on my main amp now gives me moderately loud sound. That doesn't sound like much, but I do have a fairly low power system, and that's inline with a decent cd player, so I am happy. In my setup, I place the volume at about 6.5 on the iBoost to achieve that without signal overloading on really loud passages. Your own mileage may vary, but it's easy to play with. Review: Just what the doctor ordered and it cured my issue. - I was looking for a solution to amplify the sound from 4K pc monitor 3.5mm output to my powered studio monitors (speakers) using RCA male connectors without having to keep adjusting volume levels separately on each speaker. I ordered this little guy and it did the trick. It boosted the output from my pc monitor to my studio monitors(speakers) with ease while sitting at my desk. The sound is super clear with no coloration, humming/buzzing/radio frequencies or distortion. There is a ton of headroom. This guy turned to 11-12 o clock gets so loud that I have to turn my speakers down a notch. Mind you my speakers or amped to 45% of full volume. Very very impressive and blown away as I ordered a preamp before this from desertcart but returned it on day one delivery as it did very little to boost the volume to acceptable levels. The knob to adjust levels feels very solid and durable and so does the box it comes in. It’s very easy to use. Turning the volume knob counterclockwise causes the box to turn off and the opposite direction turns it on as well as boosting volume.So there’s no need to reach behind the box to flip a switch. I purchased it in 2014, but just now need to use it,** A: Its pretty straight forward and I did look on line and did find a manual. Just connect the input to the in terminals and the output to your pre-amp or receiver input and you have additional gain that is controlled with the volume / gain knob on the front. I used it because the audio output from the customers satellite receiver was too low. He had to crank up the volume whenever he wanted the audio from that source. When he switched to another input the volume was way to high. I was able to balance the output from the satellite to be at the same level as the other sources. It works well **Q: Will this work if I hook it up to the pre outs of my stereo receiver going to a Bluetooth transmitter?** A: It would depend on what type of source the blue-tooth transmitter needs. This would be a line level analog type signal that would need an amplifier of some type after the signal source. My opinion is that as long as your blue-tooth is designed to receive an analog signal and convert it to a blue-tooth radio signal then yes it should work. I would add the pre-amp outs may or may not be going through the equalizer. **Q: Does this work for video/audio capture feed for gaming or cable/satellite tv?** A: This is an audio pre-amp and does not have any connection or value for video use. It's primary purpose is to increase signal strength from ear bud output of mp3, smart phones, etc. to connect to an audio power amplifier which does not have its own audio pre-amp. It's not a stand-alone audio amplifier. If you're using capture feed for gaming or cable/satellite TV they generally have line-out connections which is exactly what the output of the iBoost is.
