When I first turned the air cleaner on, I was concerned that it was not working properly because air was only coming out of the back left air vent, not the back right. In case anyone else has noticed this, I contacted Hamilton Beach, and this is the response they sent me: The model 04383 only has a vent on the left hand side, the slats on the right hand side are not open, they are there for aesthetics and symmetry. So, no worries - everything is working as it should!
