The name Ichabod Crane is inextricably linked in literature with the Headless Horseman, and a few people who haven't read Washington Irving's actual story may mistakenly think that Crane WAS the Headless Horseman. He wasn't. Ichabod was the schoolmaster in the fictional village of Sleepy Hollow, and he encountered the Headless Horseman, believed to be the ghost of a Hessian mercenary from the Revolutionary War, while riding late at night back to the village from a party at an outlying farm. He had made a proposal of marriage to the farmer's daughter, and had been rejected. He was never seen in Sleepy Hollow again. The next morning his unsaddled horse was found wandering, the saddle trampled, and a smashed pumpkin lying alongside Crane's hat beside the road. Wear this ensemble with your own black pants. And for a more realistic touch, carry one of our pumpkins as a prop. Everyone will want to escape this spooky creature whose head was blown off by a Revolutionary War cannonball! - Shirt w/ attached cape - Headpiece - Inflatable shoulder component ## Features - Vest with sleeves attached ascot and cape - Headpiece - Inflatable shoulder components ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | ASIN | B00081FOWU | | ASIN | B0CJYTV63L | | Age Range Description | Little Kid | | Apparel Fabric Stretch | No Stretch | | Apparel Fabric Weight Class | Medium Weight | | Best Sellers Rank | #145,248 in Clothing, Shoes & Jewelry ( See Top 100 in Clothing, Shoes & Jewelry ) #839 in Boys' Costumes | | Brand Name | California Costumes | | Closure Type | Hook and Loop | | Color | Black | | Customer Reviews | 4.1 4.1 out of 5 stars (465) | | Date First Available | August 25, 2005 | | Department | boys | | Fabric Type | Shirt Cape Fabric: Polyester; Headpiece Vinyl | | Fit Type | Loose | | Fit to Size Sentiment | Positive | | Garment Size Country | United States | | Global Trade Identification Number | 00019519111527 | | Holiday Type | Halloween | | Included Components | Headpiece, Inflatable Shoulder Components, Vest with Sleeves Attached Ascot and Cape | | Item Weight | 9.76 ounces | | Life Event | Halloween | | Manufacturer | California Costume | | Manufacturer | California Costumes | | Manufacturer recommended age | 12 months - 15 years | | Material | Polyester | | Material Composition | Shirt Cape Fabric: Polyester; Headpiece Vinyl | | Number of Items | 1 | | Number of Packs | 1 | | Occasion | Halloween | | Our Recommended age | 3 years and up | | Part Number | 00209M | | Pattern | Solid | | Product Care Instructions | Machine Wash, Tumble Dry Low, Iron Low if Needed | | Product Dimensions | 14 x 5 x 12 inches; 1.5 pounds | | Size | Medium | | Sleeve Length Description | Short Sleeve | | Special Features | Inflatable | | Special Sizes | 8-10 | | Style Name | Costume | | Style Number | 00209M | | Target Audience | Male | | Theme | Costume | | UPC | 019519111527 | | Unit Count | 1 Count | | Warranty Description | No Warranty | | character | Headless Horseman | ## Images ![California Costumes, Headless Horseman, Children's Costume - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/41YgGr1IltL.jpg) ![California Costumes, Headless Horseman, Children's Costume - Image 2](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/515DBcioU6L.jpg) ![California Costumes, Headless Horseman, Children's Costume - Image 3](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/719V5ET5muL.jpg) ## Available Options This product comes in different **Size** options. ## Questions & Answers **Q: Q: my daughter is 9 what size i should get** A: Medium 8-10 29" 25" 30" 58" up to 80 lbs. Large 10-12 31" 26" 32" 61" up to 90 lbs. **Q: does this costume run small** A: No. My six year old wore, he is a big kid. **Q: How do you see** A: The picture is deceiving. We bought this costume for my daughter last year and the severed head piece is really just a plastic piece that goes on top of your head with eye holes. We had to pin the plastic piece to the actual cape in order for it to look like you were headless. **Q: Is this child or adult sizing** A: Hello Christi,Thank you for your inquiry. This Headless Horseman Costume is for a child.
