**Q: Does anyone know how long these cartridges last?  Or, how to determine if they are still good for filtering and how to do that?**
A: I store my mask w/the filters in a zip lock bag, after I clean the mask inside with rubbing alcohol.  No idea how long they last, nor how to tell if they are bad.

**Q: R51a suitable for protection from mold spores**
A: it's not advertised for that. It's for paint and similar chemicals.  Click the link to the left for details from the masnufacturer.  There are air purifiers to deal with mold and probably masks.

**Q: Will these fit an r5700 mask? The image looks similar in the treaded bottom section, and the current canisters on the mask are r51he.**
A: yes

**Q: Can this be used to prevent ingestion of respiratory aerosols?**
A: These Cartridges are used for protection from Organic Vapors. These particular filters use Carbon to filter.
