She's asked for skates before, but not lately, so I knew that they'd be an unexpected surprise! Boy was I right! When she opened the box, her mouth dropped wide open. Then she squealed and hugged them! She loves them!I read reviews for several pair before I decided on these. It was important to me that they were good quality skates and comfortable to wear. My daughter said they are very comfortable. Clearly, they are, because she didn't want to take them off! She wore them for hours! Even when she took a break and watched a movie!I love that they are adjustable for sizes 1-5. Right now she's wearing them on size 2, so they will last us quite a while! And they don't look adjustable like some cheap skates do. They look like real professional rollerblades! There's just a simple button to press to set the size.Shipping was fast! I ordered them on Thursday night and was promised they would arrive Saturday by 8pm. I was a little nervous about that because her birthday was Sunday. So it was a pleasant surprise when I found they had been delivered before we even woke up Saturday morning!I literally have no complaints. These skates are perfect! The delivery was perfect! Yes, I know they're pricey for kids skates, but with being adjustable they will last my daughter a long time! It is amazing how when you get high quality components it makes an experience so much nicer.Pros:Wheels roll smoothlyAdjustable boot (size 4-8) She can wear it until she's mostly grownSoft boot is much more comfortable on her feet than a hard bootThe Stability Plus cuff really does its job - no turned in anklesEasy to lace! These are really "as advertised" (so far anyway.)Smooth ride on the ABEC 3 bearings. Rolls smoothly on asphalt. Spin way better than any "on display" skate I've seen at retailers.Adjustable size is great. Just be sure to take out the cardboard inserts, my hand was too big to fit deep into the skate so I missed them and my kid (who is a size 4 shoe) was fitting as a 6 in these. For whatever reason, the insert fits into the boot and then a foot will fit into the insert! I was like, wow, they run small... When she went to put them on again she first put her hand in and said "Daddy, look at this!" and then she pulled one out. Turns out she's a four! lol So they do fit true to size.For the "pro" series the speed lacing is very nice. Not having to tie and untie laces every time is great and she can do it easily herself. Well worth the extra cost.They look great and she says they're comfy. Time will tell and will update if necessary.I'll be contacting Amazon about the pads pictured because they were not in the box. At this price point they should have been included as pictured because just the skates on the K2 site have a MSRP less than what Amazon is selling them for. K2 sell the pro pack for this same price that do come with pads. I'll update this as I learn more.UPDATE: I chatted with an amazon rep and was offered an exchange or small refund due to the missing pads. Opted for small refund as she has already scuffed these up a bit. If these are not supposed to come with the pads (as I just saw that they also offer the "pro pack" at an even higher cost and that does for sure come with them) they really need to change the photo or add it to the description. Still glad we got them. :)If these last a few seasons, we will be very happy. :)Small update: Day two she rode with a friend and I can tell you that the K2s are pretty quiet compared to her friends. The other pair sounded like a train going by.
