Looking for a replacement, this caught my eye. The size is great for the shelf and it slipped right in where the old one had sat. 1/8 in jacks meant I didn't even need to use the new speakers (keeping them in a closet for the future if necessary), just plugged in the old ones. I'm not a remote using kind of guy, but it looks like it has everything you'd need if you do. Don't expect it to crank out the sound, but it's certainly loud enough to hear in the next room or out on the porch. The sound quality is what you'd expect in a box for less than fifty bucks, but again, it's certainly good enough for me. Just hoping it lasts at least half as long as the old durabrand....sigh.... ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Held up after 13 years *by C***L on April 12, 2025* I had to comment on this boom box. I originally purchased this back in 2012 and to this day in 2025 I still have it and it still works. Cd and cassettes work, am/fm comes in excellant. The speakers are removable which sounds like a surround sound. I have played this alot over the years as well as have moved several times and still works. I would highly suggest to get this boom box. Battery life is not so good but that is expected. Well spent money!! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Had to give three stars for problems with CD and Tape section not working. But great radio. *by J***O on July 31, 2016* The product arrived in okay packaging and was not damaged. I plugged it in and found that the only thing working was the radio. The CD and Tape would not work. The remote did not work also. When switching to Tape or CD the blue display would go off. The unit is a little on the cheap side for manufacturing but I do have to commend them on the radio. It received the FM and AM signals better than any boom box I have used. The sound is okay but not as good as it looks like it would produce. The Bass Boost is adequate but when you turn it on, the treble disappears and the sound is muffled a bit. I bought this for the garage when I am working on projects out there. My 30 year old box finally died. I did replace the unit with the same thing because this stuff happens in today's world. The next one might be perfect. Nice that Amazon sent UPS sticker for fast return. The replacement will be here in 7 to 8 days, so that is fine. The replacement came in about 5 days and everything worked just fine. I did take the speakers from my old unit and wired them into this one and the sound was much better. The radio is great.
