Review: Well designed. - My wife has not been happy with the stability and storage problem with our standard upright ironing board. This wall mounted unit seems to be well built and takes up little room while adding the feature of rotating the board. The unit is made of heavy steel and to ensure that installing it on dry wall did not present any problems I created a large ⅜ inch thick x 15 x 23 inch backing plate with six screws since I did not have wall studs available where I wanted to place it. As far as durability, time will tell and I will submit a second review in the future if any problems are encountered.

**Q: Can this mount with the long edge along the wall? The pics it look like it has to be installed on a short edge, which won't work for my tight space**
A: The board folds in the middle and can to turned then so that the long edge is along the wall so it would probably work in a small space.  However, it is very heavy and must be installed on a reinforced wall.  It cannot be installed on drywall.  There is nothing in the description about that.  You learn that after you get it.  Unfortunately, I did not open immediately and I allowed the return window to close so I’m stuck with it.

A: Hi, when the ironing board is folded up, its size is about wide 12 7/8 inches and length 20 5/8 inchs, depth is about 4 3/4 inches.

Originally I was going to install this in my bedroom, but changed my mind and installed the common area. It tucks in nicely and securely on the wall, easy to open and rotate, and best iron board ever I owned. My 17-year-old son now uses it often and wears wrinkle-free clothes. Very happy even though the fabric cover was way tight to fit so that I cut and sew an elastic band on it.
