Also, since you have to look directly into the viewer to see it, you have to squint, closing one eye. Tedious if you have to repeat the process continuously. A better choice, in my opinion, is to get a viewer with its own light, one that you can view by looking with both eyes at the screen, small though it may be. **Q: I read where someone used a viewer like this as a makeshift optical viewfinder for a digital camera LCD screen, because of sunlight glare; opinions?** A: You can see what is on the LCD screen but it is fuzzy, not clear. Not recommended. I have used mine to put a slide in it that I want to make a digital photo and put it up the the camera on the computer or Iphone and take a photo. Not perfect but workable. **Q: what is the magnification level?** A: I do not know the actual magnification level bit it works well as a slide sorter. Not something you would use to show slides. **Q: The white plastic front is dirty inside. Can it be detached to clean? Does it click off and on, or would that break it? Is there any way to clean it?** A: I was curious to see if mine was also dirty. It was. I couldn't remove the white plastic front, but I blew into the wider opening and it seemed to get rid of just about all of the dust inside. It is small (not too small), lightweight, simple to use, uses free ambient light. It is perfect for quickly viewing slides and seeing the dirt/fuzz to remove, and it uses no electricity nor has batteries or bulbs to wear out. The only thing I can say is not right is the title: "3 slide viewer". It allows one to view one slide at a time, in its cardboard holder; slips into and out of the viewer easily. The bad reviews are misleading. This has a good value (low price) and is great for previewing slides. I also recommend the Wolverine SNaP from Amazon to download slides, negatives, or photos to your computer or a memory chip. Remember to keep your irreplacable slides somewhere or at least have several back-ups and keep them off-site. Where did floppy disks go? That could happen to CD's one day, just like VCR's, 8 tracks, Beta Max, and even cassettes. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ quick viewer *by R***N on June 12, 2024* This is a handy viewer to have when fast viewing slides or looking over your collection. Light plastic, made just well enough, it does not have the look or performance of a high grade instrument. The main issue is the optics could be better and many people would be willing to pay more for this improvement. But the viewing is good enough, slides load easily, and many slides can be viewed quickly.
