I can see how it might be a bit cumbersome though, if this needed to be installed in a smaller area. Unfortunately, I do not have any recommendations on a different adapter, but in theory, a different one might be able to be used at your own risk. For reference, the one that came with mine says this for the output: 12 V 1.5 A 18 W **Q: Is this just used to stream video can you send email or play MMO's while using this?** A: It basically runs at full duplex T-100. Unless you are streaming uncompressed video, which Hulu, Netflix, etc. don't, this should be able to handle all you could throw at it. **Q: Run ethernet over coax, TV not involved. Another has to be put at a coax and the ethernet from that will work running at 200 mps usually.
