I've had this device for 2 years now. I live in an area where wind gusts can exceed 65mph. AcuRite does not measure momentary wind gusts, but rather the average wind speed at any given time. I was disappointed to learn that this device cannot measure wind velocity gusts. So, if you're looking for a device to measure individual wind gusts, the AcuRite is not going to work for you.
