			        		From a Farm in Michigan to life in Florida and retirement in Tennessee Phyllis Porter Dolislager grew up on a dairy farm north of Grand Rapids, Michigan and learned a strong work ethic there. She had polio at the age of 18 months and became a survivor and developed into a Type A personality. Both qualities continue to shape her life. She received a B.A. in speech at Central Michigan University; a M.A. in Instruction and Curriculum at Michigan State University; post-grad hours in English at FAU. Most of my life she has been an educator: speech, forensics, drama, journalism, literature and writing. She directed plays, coached debate and forensics, sponsored school newspapers. Her last position was as a writing adjunct at Nova University.
