Is it broken?** A: The central moving nut of the filter is the key component to make spiral vortex **Q: Does this unit generate water from air?** A: No. Treats the water you put in. **Q: Why wouldn't I just put filtered ice water into my blender? What is the difference?** A: Honestly, I can't attest to the science. But I can say that this spins water through a magnetic field that rotates. There isn't a blade like blender would have. It has a heavy magnet that sits at he bottom and another in the base and the two rotate spinning the water into a vortex, the water then spins through the minerals in the basket and a infrared light flashes into the water, supposedly activating the minerals. Like I said I can't tell you if the science is real, but it is very different than a blender. **Q: Is there filter that needs to be replaced after using it for a while? if so, how many usage will one filter last?** A: Yes, there's a mineral cartridge that you should replace every 6months. It does not really matter how much usage. 6months usage applies to all cases since mineral cartridge is sealed, once you open the seal even if usage amount is little, after 6months replacement is highly recommended. I know one catridge comes with the unit and after to replace i believe it's $60 each. I know if you purchase 3 at a time there's discount.It's an excellent machine to have at home!!! Our family love it so much!!! I used for tea. it showed better results than normal water. ### ⭐ Dont get this item melts in the dish water *by K***N on May 9, 2014* For something this expensive the pitcher melted in the dish water. I have never had a pitcher melt in the dish water. Which means the plastic used for this product is extremely bad. I don't think the pitcher is bpa free either. I called the company to complaint and they told me I had to buy over $80 of product from there website to get a free pitcher again. So much for a $ 400 water filter.
