Not the Domino XL DF 700 **Q: None of my ply is "exactly" 3/4 or 1/2". How do you get the precise center with this attachment?** A: The Domiplate is designed for "nominal" 1/2" and 3/4" plywood, that is typically has an undersized actual dimension. The Domiplate can be used on actual or undersized material, as long as you keep your reference surfaces in mind from mortising through final glue-up. Mortises can be slightly off-center and still maintain strength; what's more important for a clean joint is that the mortises are offset from the finish surfaces in both mating pieces. **Q: when using this with 1/2in plywood, what depth setting do you use? (I just purchased the Domino and am ordering the plate now)** A: The Domiplate has two settings; one side is for 1/2" plywood (or dimensional lumber) and the other is for 3/4". Just use the side that corresponds with your material. NOW.This is an incredibly important addition to the DF500, at a really attractive price. It’s incredibly simple, but it really makes this so very easy when using the domino with plywood and for cabinets.Look up Peter Millard on youtube - he uses this for just about every bit of casework he makes.I bought this for a project and didn’t end up using it, but once I finally used this it was so incredibly easy to make precise joinery for Plywood without futzing with the fence on the domino. It also naturally gives you great support with the domino upside down using its full reference face (almost like the vertical support that Festool sells).I recently make a small cabinet with the Festool connectors and between this tool and their drilling jig, I was able to bang out a bunch of knockdown joints that were super strong in no time.If I had to list a couple of negatives they would be this: the Domino power switch is awkward with the machine upside down. It takes a little more effort to turn on upside down, and also sometimes makes the machine plunge forward a little while you try to turn it on.Also, the Dominplate can slide side to side a little (this has to do with captive screws), but it doesn’t mess up the reference/registration so it’s only a minor annoyance that doesn’t affect function. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 out of 5 stars Does exactly what it is made for. *by C***Y on Reviewed in the United States on August 15, 2021* Works very well to make a consistent and repeatable mortise.
