It is a twisting function however I found that difficult with the rubber tip (had to take the tip off to turn it on/off bit of a faff otherwise) Having said that the rubber tip was useful at night, glowed green however even with extra care I managed to lose it within weeks. On the whole I would buy this again. **Q: mine doesn't seem to twist, can anyone help?** A: The front cap should twist to turn it on and off.
