They can add a clean line where a brush can’t. I presented my wife with a miniaturised travel kit, which fits into a small handbag. She takes one or two of these pencils in that kit, mostly of Windsor & Newton watercolours, brushes and water brushes. She loves the portability of mini kit I put together.
