The back ring turns like a big chuck key and is tightened with torsion bars (orange handled bars seen in picture) inserted into the holes positioned around the chuck body and back ring **Q: Will this work on a psi penpal lathe?** A: I don't know the tpi for your lathe. However, you should be able to get an inexpensive thread adapter here if you need one. I needed one for my harbor freight lathe. The combination has worked great!! **Q: I have a "harbor freight" - lathe - model # 65345 8 x 10" 5 speed 1/2hp .. will this chuck fit my lathe? i believe it's 1" x 8 thread.** A: If it is 1” 8 TPI it will fit. Please double check the specs at Harbor Freight. I’m not sure if the small lathe is 1” 8 TPI. **Q: How do i attach this to my harbor freight lathe? the spindle that came with the lathe is not threaded and i cannot find one online.** A: If your spindle has a face plate, you'll have to remove it first to access the spindle threads.
