Unless in a Waterproof housing. **Q: does this lamp have small holes to be able to twist them in place or another way to grip them? the fitting in my flat is for a 35cm height lamp** A: These GX53 bulbs have a surrated edge around the circumference of the translucent diffuser to allow them to be gripped. You do need to check your light fitting is designed for GX53 bulbs. I am not aware of any GX53 bulb the is 35cm high which must be an error as 35cm is enourmous. There aren't any 35mm high either. However, if you did mean 35mm rather than 35cm, you are likely measuring the height of the bulb plus the GX53 bulb holder. That is, the socket designed to hold the bulb. I would advise you check to see if your light fitting requires a GX53 lamp (bulb) by twisting it and removing it from the fitting. It is of course vital that you determine your system is intended for a GX53 lamp. If it is, all GX53 lamps will fit! **Q: Can you use these in external light fittings?** A: No unless they were protected from the weather.
