## Overview

The Infinity Kappa 693.11I 6x9 inch 3-way coaxial speakers deliver 220 watts RMS power with a 2-ohm impedance, maximizing amplifier efficiency. Featuring carbon injected glass fiber cones and edge-driven fabric tweeters, these speakers provide a balanced sound profile with articulate highs, strong mids, and impactful bass. Designed for seamless factory or aftermarket integration, their Plus One cone technology offers more cone surface area for enhanced audio performance, all wrapped in a sleek, screw-free chrome grille for a premium look.

## Description

The 2-ohm nominal impedance of the Infinity Kappa 693.11I coaxial speakers allows compensation for any added resistance in thin factory-installed speaker wiring and provides more output than factory speakers in its class. The high sensitivity of the Kappa Series makes it ideal for upgrading a factory-installed system’s existing speakers with very noticeable fidelity improvements. The beautiful chrome inserts on the grille match modern interiors, and there are no visible mounting screws. With a modern look, articulate highs and strong lows, the Kappa series speakers are perfect for any factory or aftermarket sound system.

Review: A bit of work for good sound. - I installed 4 of these in my 2002 Camry LE. 2 in the front doors and 2 in the rear deck. In both cases this requires custom mounting. In the rear deck this is simply drilling holes in the metal deck to match the layout of the speaker and using foam gasket between the deck and the speaker frame.( after removing half of the rear seats, the deck cover and the wings between deck and headliner) The fronts were a bit more complicated. In this car the speaker mount that holds the speaker about 2" off the door surface is integral to the unit. The whole thing is plastic so I broke out the arms (spider) that hold the driver (cone) then filed off any raised areas left from this operation. I then positioned the Infinity 6X9 in this opening and marked where to drill holes to bolt the speaker to the mount. Since the Infinity 6X9 has a plastic frame I had to cut spacers to fit between the frame and the mount so I would not flex or break the speakers frame. Having removed the Toyota wiring connection from the mount I hooked leads to the speaker and fed them through the hole where the factory connection had been. I terminated these leads with one female and one male connector and did the same with the factory speaker wire so I have a connection that can only go together with correct polarity. After all this the mounts bolt in just like before and away we go. They sound great and have ample bass though I will spend a little time at some point tuning for optimum sound and chasing down buzz and rattle gremlins.( buzz and rattle are car issues not speaker issues) A bit of work but worth it. Excellent mid range making well recorded vocals sound like the singer is in the car with you. Clean and clear highs which are augmented by Infinity Kappa 3/4" dome tweeters in the dash locations of the original cone tweeters. Currently driven by head unit but will soon be powered by Polk Audio amps. Looking forward to that as my experience with Infinity home speakers is they really start to shine with real power.
Review: BUY CLICK NOW DO NOT HESITATE GREAT SPEAKERS, ESPECIALLY AT THE ~$130 PRICE RANGE - BUY THESE SPEAKERS! Don't wait, just click. OK, that might be unreasonable, but here's my short story: I recently bought a 2016 Ford F150 XLT SuperCrew. Love the truck, almost all the features I want, except no premium stereo. It has an OK 8" touchscreen head unit that interfaces with Spotify, but the stock speakers are JUNK! I mean, literally junk. All 7 of them. Ford should be ashamed for using them in a $40,000 vehicle! I ordered a full set of Infinity REFerence line speakers. The pillar tweeters, dash center, front doors, and rear doors. VERY DISSAPOINTED! The high-end was shrill on the 6x9 REF front door speakers. I could not really stand to have the volume up past about 18 (out of 30). I found these Kappas for a great price here on desertcart, and decided to start by replacing the front door REFs with them. I just finished listening to Crime of the Century by Supertramp, and I was blown away at the improvement. Simply amazing. The front door speakers seem to dominate, or I'd be inclined to upgrade the other 5 speakers from REF to KAPPA also. I still might someday..... Nice work on these Kappas Infinity. However, the REF line should cost about half as much as it does, or these Kappas should cost about twice as much as they do (or both). I can't even imagine how they would sing with a decent amp installed. Hmmm....

## Questions & Answers

**Q: My amplifier is rated at 100w rms into 4 ohms and 200w rms into 2 ohms? Will Appx. 150w be a problem for these speakers?**
A: SPEAKER rms=85 WATTS RMS. sAFELY CAN GO 150% OVER . SO 1.5X85=127.50 IS MAX MAX= 150 WATT RMS AMP WILL WORK NICELY TO FILL IT TO THE TOP JUST SET THE GAIN DOWN AT FIRST MAY BE 75% THEN GAIN A LITTLE TILL IT SOUNDS BEST BUT NOT MAXED. TO LITTLE AMP WOULD BE WORSE THAN TO MUCH.
100 WATTS IS PERFECT @ 4 OHMS SINCE IT HITS THAT 127.5 WATTS MANUFACTURER SAYS IS ONLY 80>% AND SPEAKER MANUFACTURERS ARE VERY CONSERVATIVE SAYING 70>%

**Q: Will these fit a 2001 Dodge Dakota**
A: Yes!

**Q: What does the button do?**
A: It changes the sound of the tweeters in the middle, not a whole lot it's just a subtle change, good speakers though I reccomend them I've had them a couple years now and they are still good

**Q: These speakers are rated at 110 watts rms,,,would it be ok to run an amp rated at 150rms???**
A: Yes, as long as you tune the amp to the speakers. Gain, frequency and controls on radio to get best sound quality at max volume you want to hear. Great speaker for price point.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 6x9 is a great deal
*by G***D on May 19, 2019*

If you are looking for 6x9 speakers, these are an insane value. I originally bought some JBL gx963, which are really great at their price point, but then I happened to see these marked down (I guess they are an older model?) and took a chance. So I got to compare them on the bench and the kappas are significantly better across the full range (not a knock on the JBLs... these are $250 speakers vs. $70. The JBLs are really good.) I was initially concerned because crutchfield said that these wouldn't fit my 19 subaru outback (they are 1/4" deeper than the JBLs, which crutchfield said would fit), but took a chance based on another review, and I can confirm that they fit fine with the metra 6x9 toyota/subaru mounting adapter. These speakers are very solidly built and just feel like quality all around. The only thing that isn't perfect about them is that the angled tweeters didn't line up well with the subaru's angled panel cutout. I either had to have them firing down towards the floor, or up towards the dash. Neither is optimal, but I chose towards the dash. I wasn't really worried about it since I have dash mounts into which I put Infinity reference 3.5", so it wasn't the end of the world. If I were paying full price I might have gone a different route because of that fact, but at $99 it was too good to pass up. Get 'em while they last!
