It's lightweight but sturdy, doesn't compress weird or feel unstable under weight. The surface has a good non-slip texture so it doesn't slide around on my mat mid-pose. Beveled edges are a nice touch, comfortable to hold or rest hands/feet on without sharp corners digging in. Good size too, not bulky to store, I just toss it next to my mat or in my yoga bag. No weird smell out of the box either. Does exactly what a yoga block should do, nothing fancy needed. Great for beginners still building flexibility or anyone who uses blocks for support in various poses. Would recommend.

**Q: Are these firm enough to sit on without the block squishing? I intend to use them as a low cost meditation stool, which won't work if they're too soft**
A: They are not made for sitting or standing on.  They are for balance support when doing different yoga poses. They are made of firm foam.  I would not suggest using them for sitting or standing on.

Pro tip: I use a couple of these to prevent my couch from being too close to the wall Grabbed this to help with flexibility and balance in poses I can't quite reach the floor for yet, works great. It's lightweight but sturdy, doesn't compress weird or feel unstable under weight. The surface has a good non-slip texture so it doesn't slide around on my mat mid-pose. Beveled edges are a nice touch, comfortable to hold or rest hands/feet on without sharp corners digging in. Good size too, not bulky to store, I just toss it next to my mat or in my yoga bag.
