That being said, there are a few issues I would like to share even though they have nothing to do with the adapter itself.First: The Dishnetwork application for iOS is kinda lame. The application does not support video output from the iDevice(I've tried it on an iPhone 4/s and an iPad3) to any TV I've tried it on. Also, the application still hasn't been updated to work fullscreen on the iPhone 5.*UPDATE* This app does work with the new iPhone 5 lightning to HDMI adapter but doesn't seem to work with the older adapters, not sure why. The dishonline website is also kinda weird now that I think about it, mostly that you can't browse the channel guide while watching tv, again nothing to do with the adapter itself.Second: You need a pretty good internet connection on both the Dishnetwork receiver and whatever device you'll be streaming on to get this thing to work decently. My home connection can upload at a pretty steady 1.5mbps and I still get the occasional hiccup here and there. Oh, and once you connect to the slingbox you have about 10-20 seconds of terrible image quality while it buffers and optimizes the picture.Lastly, and this is my fault for not researching enough before I bought this, I didn't realize that the sling box adapter is just a sling box adapter and you need a separate adapter for wifi if you don't want to run an Ethernet wire to your dish box.Again, the sling box adapter works great but there is some wierdness when it comes to the various softwares you'll need to use it.-----------------------------------------------------------------------Update 1:Dish updated their app to be a lot more user friendly. The fixed all the issues with the iPhone 5 and made it possible to look at the program guide while still steaming audio.Update 2:My sling adapter seems to be dead. I had it since November 2012 and it died in May of 2013. Kinda lame but I used it fairly often so maybe I killed it. ### ⭐⭐⭐ Does not work with current Hopper Duo for Dish Network *by L***A on Reviewed in the United States πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ on April 13, 2019* Just a heads up, this does not work with the current Hopper Duo DVR which comes free when purchasing a new two year contract with Dish Network. It was the question we didn't know to ask. We even had the technician who was at our house to install the dish spend an hour with tech support trying to get it to work (this guy was wonderfully patient) but - no dice. However, for $50 you can upgrade to the Hopper w/sling, which has the sling built in. There is an additional $5/month on your bill for the service but you get an additional 'receiver', meaning you can watch and/or record 3 channels at a time instead of two. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ happier than when I first purchased it *by K***Y on Reviewed in the United States πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ on December 13, 2014* Fairly underwhelmed by the experience.Guess I had unrealistic expectations from reading all the glowing reviews.Setup was as easy as it gets. I think things got better after the Sling box got warmed up to room temp. Using with Dish's Netgear adapter. Signal strength is 58-60 out of 60 through the router.I'm getting error messages that I don't have enough bandwidth and dropped signal error messages that dish isn't available, try back in a few minutes. The picture is very herky jerky with lots of freezing up. Have 5ghz bandwidth and 25mps/3mps cable internet. Moms playing solitaire, so she's not sucking up bandwidth!Using with Asus laptop and Win 7. Wanted to watch it on my other lcd monitor. Maybe going through the serial port was the problem. I gave up on that. (edit: plays fine on old lcd monitor now).Basically I get to listen to the tv. Could do that with it on the living room. And it was a whole lot cheaper.Other than that it's great!(update) Okay, it's been about a year since I ordered this. Dish has made some improvements to the software. And they noticed we weren't using hd on anything and called us to see if they could come to the house and figure out what was wrong. They moved the dish and we even got a new one. A tree was trying to grow through all the wires and was causing many problems, so it's up out of the way now.They put an adapter into the mix that we didn't have before, I had a usb thumb adapter, and it's really made a huge difference.The only problem is this: since I started out with such a bad taste in my mouth from it constantly resetting and dropping out I didn't get into the habit of using it. I use it now from time to time and it's a totally different experience. And with Win 10 Pro (same laptop) and the new Dish viewer it's an even better experience.So, it's all good now!
