You can put a can of soda and an airplane glass in the small pockets and not have to have your tray table down. Plus there is a bigger pocket for your water bottle and other stuff underneath. With a squirmy 9 year old next to me it was super helpful. Plus two of the flight attendants commented on it and asked where they could get one.My only worry is that the mess pocket seems thin and might not last. There is a strap that supports the pocket so you can put full water bottles in it. I also would eliminate the vinyl top as it makes it hard to fold. At least one flight attendant on every flight asks me where I got it. However, it is too large to fit the tray on those value airlines like Frontier and Allegant (If I remember correctly, one of those airlines didn't even have trays). I am post back surgery prior to travel and can't bend over to get things off the floor. This is the perfect solution! For those, with no physical limitations, it just makes it nice to not have to bend over so much, which isn't fun in tight spaces.
