(This tuner is part of the system.) I started having problems with the radio awhile back and the company I used to install the unit said they don't support this type of radio. I tried a new antenna, but the problem persisted. Next I purchased this tuner, and it worked. SiriusXM is working again. I almost didn't purchase the unit because the most recent review is five years old. If you want to keep your old radio, this tuner still works with the satellite signal. When you swap tuners, SiriusXM treats it as though you are moving your service to a new radio. All i have to do is take with me the tuner after driving and plug it to my home dock connected to my reciever and i have XM to my living room.
