## Overview

The All Lengths 2.5mm 3 Core SWA Steel Wire Armoured Cable is a robust, BASEC-approved outdoor cable designed for high mechanical stress environments. Featuring plain stranded copper conductors insulated with XLPE, it supports voltages from 600V to 1000V and operates reliably in temperatures ranging from -15°C to 90°C. Ideal for powering garages, workshops, and outdoor installations, it offers customizable lengths up to 100m, combining durability with flexibility for professional-grade electrical projects.

## Description

All Lengths 3 Core SWA (Steel Wire Armoured) Cable. A hard wearing, heavy duty cable designed for use in applications of mechanical stress. The steel wire armouring adds a layer of protection for mechanical stress, burial and outdoor use. Commonly used outdoors and buried underground (with correct trunking, glands, cleats and protection) for power to garages, sheds, workshops etc. Please note that 1.5mm, 2.5mm and 4mm refers to the cross sectional area of each conductor (core) inside the cable and isn't the overall diameter of the cable. All cable is BASEC approved and manufactured to relevant European and UK standards. If you require a cable length or size not listed please message us for pricing. If you purchase multiple lengths of cable, we will combine to one continuous length (upto 100m). For example if you order 2x 10m lengths we will supply one 20m length.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Do i need anything else for underground burial**
A: You may want to consider laying this in conduit, this is not necessary for the functioning of the cable but I have often needed to add another run later or to replace a run. If you lay in conduit this is much easier to accomplish. 25mm waste pipe works well for me, strong enough and inexpensive.

**Q: Is this suitable for 240 volts and if so what maximum amps please? Thanks.**
A: Hi,
Yes this cable is suitable for 240V. Maximum amps all depends on the length of cable you require etc.

**Q: Can you please tell me what size gland i need for this**
A: The gland size relates to the cable size. So SWA 15 would fit 15mm cable, SWA 20 would fit 20mm. You need to know the cable diameter and whether it’s for indoor or outdoor use. Shen you pick the gland type it also tells you shat cable it will fit.

**Q: What size cleats for this cable**
A: I took a small sample of the cable into my local electric store and they sorted me out
