Maybe changing the bulbs to a better brand will help. the stands are pretty solid. the adjusting knobs are plastic but if you dont abuse it , it will serve you well. the stands are fairly light weight. but still nice. the soft boxes are pretty large so they light can cover more of your subject. I wish they were more powerful, but they get the job done. They are not the easiest thing to put together. It's rather time consuming to build the soft boxes and screw in 5 lightbulbs in each head.
