## Questions & Answers

**Q: can u see clearly at night, the sky, stars etc**
A: Probably the moon, but the skymaster are more suited for night.

**Q: what does porro mean and what does it do to make these binos better ?**
A: How Binoculars WorkThere are two basic types of binoculars: porro prisms and roof prisms.1. Porro-prism binocularsPorro-prism binoculars have a right-angled bend between the objective lens and the eyepiece, which makes them form an M shape when standing on their objective lenses. Porros rely on an external focus mechanism, which causes the eyepieces to slide forward or backward along an external tube. This design provides precise focusing and sharp images of close-proximity subjects as near as six to 10 feet.Reasons to buy:Brighter images due to greater transmission of lightFast focusingClose focusingWide field of viewThings to consider:Increased weight from large prismsThe bulky design can make porros harder to hold for those with small handsThe external focusing mechanism is more easily jarred out of alignment2. Roof-prism binocularsRoof-prism binoculars are typically straight with the objective lens in line with the eyepiece. They take on an H shape when stood upright. Most of the focusing hardware is housed inside the binocular, with an external focusing knob or wheel. Recent design advances have enabled roof-prism binoculars to focus as close as, if not closer than, their porro counterparts. Roof-prism binoculars have grown in popularity in the past few decades, primarily because many leading optics manufacturers are producing high-quality roof-prism optics. At the mid- to high-price range, roof-prism binoculars dominate the optics market.Reasons to buy:Ease of handlingClose focusing in advanced modelsIncreased durability from fewer external moving partsBetter power-to-weight ratio-a 10x roof-prism binocular weighs less than a 10x porroThings to consider:More expensive because of the need for special prism coatings to increase image brightness

**Q: How good is the stability of these when hand-held? I've not used anything over 10x handheld and it seems like it could be pretty shakey...**
A: It's not that good, over time I developed some skills to hold it steady, but it's hard.

**Q: I want to focus on small items 25' away. Things I used to be able to see with my eyes. Can these focus at 25' away?**
A: Most certainly! You should have absolutely NO issues in viewing objects in that range.
