This stuff is great and a little goes a long way.
This sauce is an excellent additive to chicken.

I love this sauce!
I once tried this sauce about 25 years ago. I have been using it since. One small drop will give your food that kick that you want which means this bottle lasts a long time. This is one of the things that makes my life happy.

Pleasantly Uncomfortable
Update: 2/23/2021 - This update is for Dave’s Ultimate Insanity not regular Insanity - if your bottle does not say Ultimate above Insanity on the label, you have the regular one. I’ve now tried this sauce against Reaper Squeezins, The Rapture, Wicked XXX Reaper, Da Bomb and Elijah’s and I have found this one to cause the most damage. I cannot eat this directly on my food - it burns the hell out of my insides. The Dave’s bottles all look the same and I made a terrible error and put this on my eggs and I was in pain for about two hours - had to drink about 4 glasses of milk and took about 5 antacids, I couldn’t stand up nor lay down it was the worst experience I’ve ever had with a hot sauce. It pours no different than regular insanity and the ghost pepper - so double check labels before pouring. It also sticks to stuff and it has stained one of my T-shirt’s (no joke). Wash right away if you get it on your skin or clothes. This is the real deal. A must have for any Chile Head.Original review:Good flavor and texture. Pours thick. Slow heat - starts at the sides of the tongue and then works it’s way down. You’ll really catch it on your first full exhale from your mouth. It ended up being too hot to put directly on my food - it’s right at the limit where you know it’s going to hurt your gut or your butt if you push it. I use it in sauces and soups. Dave’s Ghost Pepper and regular Insanity are my regular directly-on-food sauces.

Tastes good, but not quite hot enough
This is my 2nd bottle of Dave's Insanity. I really like the flavor and that it was hot enough for me the first time. The 2nd bottle I got was still a good flavor, but it wasn't that hot anymore. Before, I would only put one or two drops on my food. With this 2nd bottle, I can put a lot. This last time I had elk stew and I put in some tapatio, ground Thai chili in oil, cayenne pepper, and 5 drops of this in my bowl and it still wasn't hot enough. Maybe I'm developing a tolerance, but I am now looking for something hotter. I do recommend it if you're not looking for something too hot. This will heat up a bowl of soup without changing the flavor. I really dislike hot sauces with too much flavor because I already like the taste of the food I'm eating. I just want to add a little heat. Here's a scale to explain the amount of heat I can take: I can drink the original Tabasco sauce with no problem; Sriracha is like ketchup, but I actually prefer ketchup. You'll never find Sriracha in my house because I don't like the flavor; I always have fresh Thai chilis or habanero with my meals (usually 2 or 3 whole habanero per meal); I haven't had anything too spicy for me. Yet.

Good sauce ... in small doses
I've tried a few hot sauces that add spice but this one seems to be the real stuff.Be careful if you are not familiar with hot sauces, and try a little bit first! My first time, I placed my normal quantity onto my food and was feeling it for a l-o-n-g time both in the mouth and later, in the stomach (milk, ice cream, or psyllium powder seem to work the best if you don't follow this advice). The sauce is a bit "sticky" to the bottle, so be careful when you pour it (I suggest angling it down no more than about 15^ from horizontal and being patient). It stains nearly anything it touches so take care with your linens, and quickly rinse with Dawn if you need to. Don't touch your eyes if you get any on your hands (I also suggest wiping the inside of the bottle cap now and then, or if it overflows. Sorry about the nanny suggestions but you won't regret being cautious).Enjoy (??), but enjoy in moderation!

It's warm
I was pretty happy with this. Yeah it's a bit hot. I'd used Insanity before it. I always thought that had a really great chili type flavor. This is not that. It took me a while to get used to this before I could taste much, since everything just tasted like burning. I ate burning every single day for every meal and once I got used to the heat I have to admit I got tired of the taste pretty fast. Maybe even just a few days. I'd imagine I have about 1/3 bottle left and I'm going to try something else. Even thought about going back to old Insanity again. That stuff just tastes too good. I don't know... I'm feeling like I should get hotter. This doesn't seem like enough.

If You Want Heat...
I love hot food and am always trying to spice things up. This sauce will add a ton of heat. At work I had it at my desk to spice up my lunch. A co-worker borrowed it without my knowledge and had liberally applied it to her breakfast taco. Fortunately, she came by to tell me so before she ate it. I told her that she was not going to be able to eat her taco, unless she removed 90% of it. Anyway, you'll feel the heat in your mouth, your digestive tract, and the end. Note I don't say anything about flavor. There really isn't much of one, just heat.

Great heat, with a nice build, but basically just extract
There is a lot of great heat, which has a nice build to it and actually cools down pretty quickly as well, but the flavor leaves a ton to be desired. Like most extract sauces it is hard to taste much else. This is a great sauce if you want to add some heat to something and it will have enough flavor to cover it up, but not great if you are looking for a hot sauce that brings a nice flavor with heat.

Pepper Veterans Only
This is more of an extract than a sauce. Please be cautious and use in small amounts. I add this to my favourite sauces to kick up the heat! Mix a drop in per cup of water and spray on surfaces to keep animals out of your backyard and inside you’re bbq!
