Wear it when you lay by 45 degrees in bed or sitting in a chair. The Kangaroo tube with halter strap* is made from a soft, lightweight and stretchy cotton / spandex jersey for additionnal comfort for mom and baby - and is flexible enough that baby can move and seek for the breast. Semi-side seams with elastic shirring prevents baby from slipping sideways and follow the shape of the baby without unnecessary pressure. The double band at the bottom and inner support to the buttocks / lower back prevents baby from slipping down. Just slide the halter strap over the head to breastfeed easily. That strap gives an additional support, especially it you wear your baby when sitting in a chair but it's not a "hands free" baby carrier so if you get up you must have a free hand to ensure additional protection and support. It was designed with the help of perinatal nurses and pediatricians. This shirt seemed ideal, conceptually. The fit is not. While there is adequate room for the baby in the top portion of the shirt (by the bust), it is overall tight and too short. I was uncomfortable with the fit on the single time I tried to wear it. I have an average length torso, and the shirt wasn't long enough to reach the top of any shorts or bottom I tried on. My stomach was exposed under the bottom of the shirt. This was not exacerbated by excess pregnancy weight because my stomach was fairly flat within as week of delivery; there was no residual pouch to cause poor fit. Also, inserting the baby for contact is awkward and would be easier with two people! ### ⭐⭐⭐ Great concept but didn't work for me *by B***I on Reviewed in the United States on June 18, 2015* It runs a little small I think. Please note, that I had a ten pounder! That said, it did give me some support, and a free and to help with my other kids. My baby loved to sleep right next to my heart, so this worked perfectly. I also had a c section.Note, with my other kiddos, I didn't know about these. Instead, I would wear a snug tank and slip them inside.
