Designed with a forward-facing speaker, the alarm clock features two volume settings--and even the "soft" setting will be plenty loud for most people. In addition to its hard-to-miss alarm, the clock features oversized numbers on a 1/2-inch LCD screen for quick reading. A blue backlight can be activated with a button for nighttime, and a snooze feature lets you catch a few more winks before getting up for good. The alarm clock is compact and portable, as its power source comes from one 9-volt and two AAA batteries instead of electricity. It measures 1-3/4 by 4-3/4 by 3 inches, compact enough even for small nightstands. --Emily Bedard Product Description Start your mornings right with the Westclox 47547 Compact Alarm Clock for Adults. Its combination of form and functionality makes it an essential for any home Review: Exactly what I was looking for - Needed an easy to read digital clock for my elderly mother. She doesn't see well. Didn't want the high price of a radio alarm clock, which she wouldn't have listened to anyway. Just wanted a NO bells and whistles simple clock. Good luck with that. Needed a small clock to fit on a small nightstand. Needed one that did not have an electrical cord - needed battery operated. Also, had to be very easy to use - easy to change the time and set the alarm and turn the alarm on/off. Alarm had to be loud enough to hear. Mom wasn't 100% mentally and she was not real familiar with these new-fangled gadgets. She always had a Big Ben windup clock, but could no longer wind one up. Looked at a zillion clocks on desertcart. Finally found this one. Inexpensive and satisfied every criteria on our list. Great clock. Weird that it uses 2 different types of batteries, but I'm not complaining. Fit the bill in every other way, and this wasn't an easy search. Nobody makes a simple, inexpensive, digital alarm clock. This is it. Review: Happy with purchase - Received clock quickly and adequately packaged, as expected from desertcart. Clock appears to be sturdily built; all buttons are intuitive as to use and have a satisfying feel when pushed; case appears to be resistant to the usual drops (I accidentally dropped it from four feet onto a wood floor, no crack or scratch). Nice fit & finish. Display is as seen in the picture, not backlit unless the snooze bar is depressed, so clock is not good for checking the time in a dark (bed)room. Alarm is louder than any other clock I've owned, but not "banshee" loud on the "loud" setting. Does the job, though. There is a soft vs loud setting for the alarm. The speaker is at the front of the clock, to the left of the time display. Clock requires one 9V and two AAA batteries; it has no cord to plug into the wall outlet. Batteries are not included. ## Features - Plastic - WAKE UP ON TIME, EVERY TIME: Adjustable super loud alarm ensures reliable wake-ups, perfect for heavy sleepers or busy professionals. - COMPACT AND CONVENIENT DESIGN: Lightweight and small, ideal for bedside tables, desks, or travel without taking up much space. - EASY-TO-READ LCD DISPLAY: Offers clear visibility of the time from various angles, designed for practicality and simplicity. - LIGHTED DIAL ON DEMAND: Illuminate the screen during nighttime for quick time-checking without disrupting your sleep environment. - MODERN BLACK CASE: A sleek, stylish design that blends seamlessly with any decor, offering functionality and aesthetic appeal. - Digital alarm clock with 1/2-inch LCD screen and extra loud alarm - Oversized numbers for quick reading in the dark - Includes snooze feature and press-on blue backlight - Optional lower alarm volume for lighter sleepers - Runs on 1 9V and 2 AAA batteries for easy portability ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | ASIN | B00013K77C | | Additional Features | Cordless | | Alarm Clock | Yes | | Batteries are Included | No | | Best Sellers Rank | #328,860 in Home & Kitchen ( See Top 100 in Home & Kitchen ) #538 in Alarm Clocks | | Brand | Westclox | | Brand Name | Westclox | | Clock Form | Travel | | Color | Black | | Customer Reviews | 3.8 out of 5 stars 474 Reviews | | Dial Color | White | | Display Type | Digital | | Frame Material | Plastic | | Indoor Outdoor Usage | Indoor | | Item Dimensions W x H | 4.53"W x 1.77"H | | Item Type Name | Super Loud Alarm Clock | | Item Weight | 0.2 Pounds | | Manufacturer | Salton | | Manufacturer Part Number | 47547 | | Manufacturer Warranty Description | 1 year warranty. | | Material Type | Plastic | | Model Number | 47547 | | Mounting Type | Tabletop | | Number of Batteries | 3 AAA batteries required. | | Number of Items | 1 | | Operation Mode | Automatic | | Power Source | Battery Powered | | Product Dimensions | 4.53"W x 1.77"H | | Room Type | Bedroom | | Shape | Rectangular | | Size | 1 | | Smart Home Compatibility | Not Smart Home Compatible | | Special Feature | Cordless | | Style | Modern | | Style Name | Modern | | Theme | Plain | | UPC | 716080068082 074994496309 773822598900 844220000545 | | Unit Count | 1.0 Count | | Watch Movement | Automatic | ## Product Details - **Brand:** Westclox - **Color:** Black - **Display Type:** Digital - **Indoor/Outdoor Usage:** Indoor - **Power Source:** Battery Powered - **Product Dimensions:** 4.53"W x 1.77"H - **Room Type:** Bedroom - **Shape:** Rectangular - **Special Feature:** Cordless - **Style:** Modern ## Images ![Extra Loud Alarm Clock for Heavy Sleepers, Easy-to-Read LCD Display with Adjustable Alarm and Snooze (Black) - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/71lVLA+l6lL.jpg) ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Exactly what I was looking for *by K***Y on October 16, 2013* Needed an easy to read digital clock for my elderly mother. It was super loud when it worked, but now it just makes a meek little sound, like there's a thousand trapped souls inside trying to escape (quietly). When it worked, it was so loud that one of my dogs hated it so much that as soon as it went off, she started barking to be let into the backyard while I was trying to snooze peacefully (because if you come out of a deep sleep too quickly, you get the bends). Also, the snooze feature is all wrong. This clock snoozes in increments of FOUR minutes! You can't change it. Alarm clocks are supposed to snooze in increments of NINE minutes! Not four, nine. That's according to the U.S. Constitution, international law, the Bible, the Koran, NASCAR rules and regulations and all other controlling legal authorities. So this clock didn't work for me at all. ## Frequently Bought Together - Westclox Extra Loud Alarm Clock for Heavy Sleepers, Easy-to-Read LCD Display with Adjustable Alarm and Snooze (Black) - Energizer MAX 9V Batteries (2 Pack), 9 Volt Alkaline Batteries - Packaging May Vary - Duracell Coppertop AAA Batteries with Power Boost Ingredients, 4 Count Pack Triple A Battery with Long-lasting Power, Alkaline AAA Battery for Household and Office Devices --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.tn/products/1174095-extra-loud-alarm-clock-for-heavy-sleepers-easy-to-read](https://www.desertcart.tn/products/1174095-extra-loud-alarm-clock-for-heavy-sleepers-easy-to-read) --- *Product available on Desertcart Tunisia* *Store origin: TN* *Last updated: 2026-11-04*
