I thoughly recommend it. It is the only concrete post bracket I've found which raises the basket to the height that baskets should be viewed. The bracket fits easily over the top of the concrete post, fitting on the top of the post quite comfortably, and is supported a few inches down by the cross piece of the bracket which fits exactly on the front and sides of the post. The swan neck of the bracket is then 15 inches above the height of the concrete post which, in turn, causes the hook of the bracket to be about 10-12 inches above the height of the concrete post. When a basket is hung on the bracket hook the top of the basket is about six feet or so from the ground, or at eye height depending on a person's height. Adjusting the length of the basket chains could raise the basket a bit higher (as can be done with a basket held on any normal wall bracket).The basket I've placed on the hook of my swan-neck post bracket is at exactly the same height as my baskets held on normal brackets on my garage wall. Incidetally, I found that not all the tops of my concrete posts are finished in exactly the same way, insomuch that the slants of the concrete top may be slightly different. This is not the fault of this superb bracket, but the fault of the post manufacturer. I would imagine that this bracket would fit just as ideally on the top of wooden posts which have their top slant-shaped like a concrete post, because it is advertised as a post bracket, and I see no reason why it couldn't fit such wooden posts.. Obviously these post brackets can only be fitted onto your own posts - not those belonging to a neighbour, unless the neighbour agrees that you can use their posts.
