The jacket is dressier than I thought it would be. But, the basic black dress is nice on it's own.Too, it can be worn with a multitude of different jackets, scarves, or cardigans.The perfect dress for any occasion. I will be looking for more dresses from Jessica Howard.Another reviewer mentioned that the jacket has a slight shine to it. Well, the jacket doesn't shine it's self. (meaning it isn't in the fabric) The shine is from tiny circular silver disks that have been attached (glued) to the fabric. Personally, I am not a shiny lover. I could have done without the "glitz". But, I will wear it. If I thought the jacket would wash clean, I would pull all the shiny disks off. But, I fear it would ruin it so, I am going to wear it as is. The shiny disks give the dress a festive feel. I think this will make it great for holiday parties.I should add that the arm holes in this dress are wonderful. They fit nice, the bra doesn't show.
