**Q: Does this have a locking mechanism?**
A: You can lock it by tightening the screws.  Hard to lock real accurately however.

**Q: How much force can this stage withstand?**
A: 3.5 kg

**Q: What is the thread pitch of the holes in the top of the stage?**
A: The threaded holes in the top are M4-0.7 mm, with a 0.7 mm pitch. This is considered a coarse thread, and it is the most common pitch for M4 screws. I was never able to find this information anywhere and had to take a chance ordering some M4-0.7 mm screws, but can confirm that they do fit. No idea why it is so hard to get this information!
