It's not great, but it's better than nothing. It is great for English saddles or small western saddles. My western saddle sits on it but the stirrups drag on the ground because it's so short. I ended up buying another rack for my western saddle. For a bit I had it in the back of my mini van in well created when the third row seats are up. It fit in there fairly snugly but, because of the tripod legs, it tipped over very easily. It isn't as tippy when it's sitting on level ground. I didn't have any trouble with damage during shipping, it was easy to assemble and it is what it is.
