The Bates were good boots and lasted 5 years. These Reeboks are a lot more comfortable due to the extra padding throughout. Seem to be well made and they look good too. ### ⭐ Not as good as converse *by A***B on December 31, 2013* I have been wearing these boots for about six years now , they were previously sold by Converse. When Reebok took over the price jumped by fifty dollars . I have worn them on several deployments and so have many other soldiers/sailors I know. I find it shameful that they would gouge a support customer base like the US service member who made this product successful . I am happy to see that the price has finally come down to where it was ( from many complaints I'm sure) I WOULD NOT recommend these boots .UPDATE: 7/24/14 .... I have purchased two pair of these boots since my original review ,both started splitting at the side within 3/4 months , THESE ARE NOT THE SAME BOOTS PREVIOUSLY MADE BY CONVERSE ! ### ⭐⭐⭐ Nice boot, but not wide enough *by A***Y on March 9, 2019* I was excited to get these and really wanted them. I ordered 11W. Not wide enough by just a little. Where the zipper comes down towards the arch, it put a real pressure point there on my foot. Further up where the tongue meets the sides of the boot, there is some extra stitch and material that rubbed both side of my ankle. To be fair, I do have bigger, more muscular calves, so that may have been a contributing factor. The quality and workmanship of the boots looked great, but I just don't think that even breaking them in would have helped. If you have a bit wider than wide foot and/or bigger lower legs, then this boot may not be for you.
