I also noticed that even to the end of the day, without changing it, the pad hasn't gotten any worse. (Gross I know, I should've changed it, but I still felt like I was sitting on a cloud 8 hrs into the day.) I honestly might make the switch to cloth pad in the future, but in the mean time, these pads are my go-to day pads now. One can last comfortably for the entire day and emits no odor. They are unscented, are thick and soft and truly comfortable to wear for the few necessary days. (about as comfortable as flannel pads--I use them, but sometimes want a disposable option.) I buy the Regular size. There's 18 in the bag and I wish they came in a larger quantity pack. As long as I need these (I'm 51 - and cycles are like clockwork) I won't buy other pads. These are very much like what I recall pads being in the 80s, as other reviewers say. I like that. These are individually wrapped.
