The problem is you can't fit a pound of bacon on a half sheet baking pan so I bought this. This is great because you can stack three layers of bacon now.It fits the normal "home baking sheet" size which is great for the average user but I like to use official half sheet pans, they're the thick aluminum ones you'd see in a restaurant or commercial kitchen. So, these are a little small for that but it gives me a little extra padding in case some of the bacon hangs over the edge so not a huge deal.I'm not sure I would use these for cooling since I mainly make cookies and I like to make chewy cookies and have found that this style will allow the cookies to sink in between each rung on the rack making some funny looking cookies. For cooling I prefer to use the grid style racks with ~1/2" squares so the cookies have a lot of support.For cleaning, just stick them in the dishwasher, which is great because it makes cleaning up bacon grease a breeze.P.S. The picture shows a pound of bacon so adding the third rack I could do two pounds or pushing them a little closer together I could probably squeeze two pounds on three racks. I have limited counter space. They stack very easily and also clean up well. Knowing I have these makes me want to bake cookies.
