I had to go into hub manager by copying this 192.168.1.254 to a new web browser page. You will then need to enter your own BT hub password from the back of your wifi box. Click on wireless where it has a button to separate the details for 2.4ghz and 5ghz. They are both preset to work together but this allows you to switch off the 5ghz. Save it and then now try to connect your device. Hold the power button down for 5 seconds on the device until it flashes and it should connect now with the smart Life app. Then switch the 5ghz back on in your BT Hub. **Q: Does it store the timer settings?** A: Yes **Q: Does this work with ifttt?** A: I have used the smart power strip with Alexa features through Samsung , but I didn’t tried it with ifttt , **Q: Can this work with samsung smart things?** A: It’s not on the Samsung list I’ve just looked but it doesn’t need a hub. I’m using mine with Alexa and a google home. I’ve got 3. They’re really good you can name individual plugs. There’s a timer in the smart life app so you can time how long each plug stays on for and an alarm too. I’ve previously paid for eve plugs and smart things. These are brilliant and a bargain. I’d definitely recommend them if you have an echo or a google. Doesn’t work with Siri though. Hope this helps. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 out of 5 stars Setting Up for google *by Y***6 on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 8 October 2019* You need the smart life app first of all and your google home app. There are no instructions for setting up with Google home so had to search a bit as I also discovered the BT home hub works in two bandwaves 2.4ghz and 5ghz. This device needs to be set up in 2.4ghz so the 5ghz needs to be switched off on the BT home hub temporarily. Other broadband providers may be the same. I know Virgin is.To do this I had to go into the hub manager online by copying this 192.168.1.254 to a new web browser page. You will then need to enter your own BT hub password from the back of your wifi box. Click on wireless where it has a button to separate the details for 2.4ghz and 5ghz. They are both preset to work together but this allows you to switch off the 5ghz. Save it but keep the page there for later (to switch back on)and now try to connect your device in the smart life. Hold the power button down for 5 seconds on the device until it flashes and it should connect now with the smart Life app. Then switch the 5ghz back on in your BT Hub. You can then go in to your google home app and link the smart life to it.It only took 5 minutes overall and it works great. Set-up using the Smart Life app was simple and as described in the instructions.
