These are pretty and I use them several times a day. They aren't stiff at all; very pliable and soft to the touch, so I use them as trivets, but also for holding the ends of vegetables, etc., where I need a better grip than my bare hands provide. I've also grabbed a pot lid a time or two with the big one folded over, but because of the loose weave, I wouldn't recommend that as standard practice. I washed them on delicate in the washer (by themselves), did a bit of shaping, them left them to dry flat. These are made with thin white twine stitching the jute together, but rather than detract from the appearance, I like it, and it's barely visible anyway. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 out of 5 stars Really nice trivets! *by S***S on Reviewed in the United States on December 12, 2011* These are really nice , there are two in each package. The large one is in about 12 inches and covers a pretty good area. I just used it for a large bowl of chili that was still a little warm when I put it in my fridge. The small one is about 8 inches. They are handmade and organic so there is no coating to protect from spills but I guess they could be carefully hand washed. They do have a bit of an oder but it's nothing too bothersome, only noticeable when held close to yourself. I would recommend these. I found them easy to store also, in my cupboard under some pans. The smallest one is more of a typical trivet size, the larger one makes for a fantastic center piece. Would love to see as a unique table setting or could definitely be used as wall art too. Very understated and just gorgeous!!!
