I was looking over some recent jewelry purchases, and there were several Janefashions pieces twinkling up at me! I hope they keep it up and continue to innovate.And this.....this utterly gorgeous hunk of plummy delight is stunning and original! The design and construction of this set must have been a nightmare, but it turned out to be something sublime and striking. There are openwork roses, a pavéd heart, AB stones, different sizes, cuts and shapes of stones, and glorious purple EVERYWHERE! This is a luscious shade of purple, nearly aubergine but too light, so it's really more of a rich plum, with a slightly 'dusty' look to it. It's about an 18-20" necklace, and it has a lobsterclaw so you can extend it some if you want. The chain is strong and the finish is high-polished silver. The finish on the design itself is dusty plum, just as the stones are. The earrings are quite large but not super-heavy because of all of the openwork. They are long however, so to my eye they don't work so well with the necklace. I'd find a pair of studs or take apart the earrings and size them down. Looking at them, I think you could actually make a second pair by using a French wire on the bigger rose, keeping the smaller one on it's post.Now where to wear this stunning thing...anywhere you want!! Maybe not to mow your lawn, but hey...who am I to stop you? Younger girls will wear this to school, to prom, on a big date, and important family occasions. The 20-somethings might funk this up...wear it to go clubbing, on a picnic, and antiqueing on the weekends. More mature women could wear this to work, to church, to make a presentation, to host a party or a baby shower. Silver-haired grandmothers will wear this wherever the heck they want....they've earned the right to their own style!It's an attention grabber, people you don't even know will notice and compliment you on your jewelry when you wear this. It's chunky but not at all heavy because of all of the openwork, and it's dramatic without being over the top. I think this is a very versatile piece; easy to dress up.or down, perfect in many workplaces, on a date, off to a movie, a weekend away, or just for fun.
