Could this be used as a spotlight for a 20 foot tall flag?** A: Definitely throws light higher than 20 foot. My trees are 60 to 80 foot tall and the 50 watt bulb illuminates to that height. **Q: what watt lights for under trees?** A: I believe anything between 35-50 watts would work to shine up thru thee trees...these are 50-Watt. I replaced the 50-Watt Bulbs with 20-Watt Bulbs to highlight our porch flag and certain ornamental figurines placed around the front of the house. **Q: Is the tilt angle on these adjustable? I would want it to point almost straight up. Thank you** A: Yes, the lamp has an adjustable head with a "toothed" piece you can move and then tighten with the screw. I do think it will point almost straight up. **Q: Are these lights available in green matte finish?** A: I don't think so, however, you can spray paint these green if you need too... ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Excellent Alternative To Discontinued Malibu LED Fixtures *by D***R on August 26, 2016* I purchased the Malibu 20W equivalent LED fixtures from HD several years ago, and two of the 9 I purchased have given out on me. Given that HD no longer carries these fixtures, I decided to give these Paradise units a try, based on the positive reviews. I am in complete agreement with the positive reviews. They are heavy duty and I really like the fact that you can use your own bulbs, rather than the sealed construction of the Malibu units. I combined these with Sunthin MR16 LED's, again based on reviews using them with these Paradise fixtures, and I'm very happy with the results. I've had one of these combos running since December 2015 with flawless performance (knock wood). I should add that I ran one of the included halogen MR16's for a week or so and I can honestly say that the Sunthin 50W equivalent is actually brighter than the 50W halogen. These fixtures also have a drain hole at the bottom in case moisture enters. All metal and glass construction, matching or exceeding my Malibu fixtures. I cut the plastic connectors off at the ends of the wires and made my connections with wire nuts, as I've had problems with this type of connection in the past with the Malibu fixtures. I have since ordered almost a dozen more of these to replace the other Malibu's when they give out, which is inevitable. I like having a couple on hand as spares as well. Overall, I wish I had bought this setup initially, as the ability to replace the bulb rather than the entire fixture, is preferable. There is plenty of room in the housing to use a variety of MR16 bulb sizes, but I'd encourage you to read reviews and ensure that they've been used with these fixtures to avoid any problems. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Decent Landscape Light For Little $$$ *by A***Y on July 21, 2015* I'm giving these lights a 5 star rating. The reason is that they are a bargain for the money. They are an excellent quality fixture. I like the very sturdy case, easy to remove twist off head, easy to install bulb, excellent adjustment knob and adjustment range and the water drain holes in both the case body and light head. I have dozens of fixtures for my landscape lighting system that I have expanded over the years. These fixtures look like they will hold up better than many of the more expensive fixtures I now have. I really like the easy access to the bulb with the twist off head. I do recommend using an LED MR16 bulb and not the included 50 watt halogen. The halogen runs way to hot and uses way to much power. The LED will use 1/10th of the power and run much cooler. LEDs can now be had for little money ($3-$5) and are a much better choice. I also like that LEDs are available in a variety of colors for very interesting lighting effects. I highly recommend these fixtures and intend to buy more for my system. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Nice Quality and *by E***F on August 24, 2012* These are nice fixtures and can fit the new LED bulbs whereas other fixtures don't have the clearance.Size:- The light housing has plenty of space between the internal plug and the glass lens.- The extra space inside allowed me to use my LED lights made by Torchstar since they were too big to fit in my Malibu metal spot fixtures.Water Resistance:- The seal around the glass was not water tight. Due to the angle of my light, facing virtually straight up, I had to drill a small drain hole as water was pooling in the bottom of the inside of the fixture.- I could probably use a bit of silicon around the edge of the glass and rubber gasket to make the unit more water resistant.Spike:- The spike that the unit uses to hold it in place in dirt looks like painted steel with holes in it. I'm sure the spike will last a few years, but I'm not sure how long it will be until the spike eventually begins to rust and eventually rusts out.Mounting:- The nice thing about the fixture is the threaded section of the black pipe that screws into the spike- The threads on the black pipe thread perfectly on an exterior electrical box. Same thread as the light fixtures on a set of exterior spot light. I threaded one of my boxes to an electrical box and used a locking nut inside the box on the threads to lock the shaft in place when mounting one of these spots on an exterior wall of my garage.Fixture:- The fixture is made of metal, possibly cast. Appears strong and durable. Adjusting the fixture is really easy with the thumb turn plastic lockElectrical Connection:- The unit comes with a clamp-down piercing electrical connection box. You simply unscrew the 3 screws and insert the wire in the correct channel and then tighten the screws to pierce the wire.- I liked the fact that the wire was copper instead of the cheap aluminum wire in some unit today. I prefer soldered connections so I spliced the wire to the circuit wire, soldered the connections and then used the rubber dip stuff that you can make handles for tools with to seal my connections. I re-coated my connections 3 times to make tough rubber seals over my soldered connections. I use to use the piercing connections on landscape lighting but they start getting temperamental after a few years as corrosion or loose clips come into play.
