This case is both. Seals the phone solidly..heavy-grade rubbed case should provide great protection in case of drops. The touchscreen for fingerprint ID didn't work, even though I had a good connection. Not a problem for me tho..I have found out the fingerprint ID seldom works with this type of case...Still have facial recognition and PIN, so no problem. Other than that, the touchscreen works flawlessly.
