I feed my Koi, orbs and goldfish with them. My goldfish are nearer 6inches. **Q: Hi All, has anyone had any issue with fish dying after feeding with this food, as I have had 2 fish die, over the last 3 days, Thank you.** A: I have had a new tub in the last week with no problems , so i think it would be something else.Were there any marks on the fish had they been feeding okay , check your water . It could be the conditions how old are the fish . **Q: What is the shelf life of this food? Seems good value, but I don't want to waste money if it will go off before it all used.** A: I have a large fish pond and I use one of these tubs once a month so I don’t know the shelf life. It's quite a dry product so I think it would have a long life before going off. **Q: Are these all season pellets** A: You will kill your fish through misplaced kindness if you feed them protein pellets during the winter, as they can’t digest it and it rots in their stomachs (I lost a large koi this way I think). Protein pellets are summer warm temperature food. When water temperature is below 10 degrees and above 5 degrees feed them wheat germ pellets (which are more easily digestible) and below 5 degrees don’t feed them at all! This is what is stated on the containers!
