I bought it to ease the back and shoulder discomfort and due to the strain of holding the trimmer out in front of my body. The system uses a adjustable straps to allow the user to find the "sweet spot" for holding onto the trimmer. You can literally just let it hang on the harness because most all trimmers have a ring installed at the balance point of the tool. The harness has a built-in metal snap that attaches to the trimmer's ring. A very nice safety feature is that the trimmer can be instantly disconnected from the harness just by pulling on a prominent red strap that disconnects the metal snap. I've tested it and it works well.
