Review: The twig that would not grow... ever... for any reason... - I bought this "twig" 3 years ago. I planted it with it's 5 leaves anyway. I've planted 47 trees in that time. The twig is still a twig and now has 7 leaves... I do a lot of tree planting obviously but I do not know what it wrong with this thing... I need to just dig it up and be done with it. It is not going to grow and I'm not sure how they even created a tree that won't grow. I live in the Pacific Northwest and I have a total of 7 these exact maples bought from local nursery's and they are doing great. I have 5 I planted last year from a nursery and they're almost 7 foot so... I just think people should know it's not you. It's whatever this twig tree is...

**Q: Do you know what type of Japanese maple this is ?**
A: That is a Blood good Japanese Maple.

**Q: Do you fertilize if so how much and when?**
A: I do not fertilize.  I mulch and water.   In the summer it takes a lot of watering the first several years to get plants established and the mulch helps the plant stay moist longer and keeps the weeds to a minimum.

**Q: Do Japanese Maple take full sun for several hours a day?**
A: Dappled shade or Morning sun with light afternoon shade

**Q: Can you plant those in the ground in Massachusetts**
A: I believe so, but only once the ground is warmed up in late spring...mine do very well outside, in the winter, here on the east coast they go to sleep at the first frost, the leaves fall off but they will come back in the spring...we have a huge one and a smaller one on the yard, minimal care, just prune a bit once the leaves are off.
I tried growing them in the house also, as smaller plants, no luck with that

I bought this "twig" 3 years ago. I planted it with it's 5 leaves anyway. I've planted 47 trees in that time. The twig is still a twig and now has 7 leaves... I do a lot of tree planting obviously but I do not know what it wrong with this thing... I need to just dig it up and be done with it. It is not going to grow and I'm not sure how they even created a tree that won't grow.
