It is a bit stiffer that the original, and about 5 feet shorter, but works just fine and is a direct replacement for the original. Would recommend for anyone who might need a new hose. ONE CAVEAT: BEWARE THAT YOU PURCHASE THE CORRECT UNIT FOR REPLACEMENT! THIS ONE HAS TW0 CONTACT PINS THAT PLUG INTO THE WALL FITTING. THE NEWER SYSTEMS APPARENTLY USE A SLIP RING POWER CONNECTION TO THE ACTUAL HOSE ITSELF WHEN THE HOSE IS CONNECTED TO THE WALL OUTLET. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 4.0 out of 5 stars Expensive but no alternative *by S***R on Reviewed in the United States on January 26, 2022* My first one broke. I tested across the two plugin prongs with the switch in the on and off position and it was open. Then I tested the switch and it opened and closed. So, the problem was the wiring in the hose. The only fix is a replacement of the hose and this was an exact original replacement for my original. Plugged it in and it was back to vacuuming. I did save the sock from the original.
