I already have 4 of these binders but I genuinely cannot work out how you use this** A: I assume the metal rod referred to is as shown in one of the pictures. If so, its purpose is to compress the pages to the rear side of the binder. To use it place it on the binder rings at the top of all the pages and then slide it down until it locks in place.
